The Boss Conference will be held in Austin, Texas with a focus on business opportunities for undergrad and prospective business students with an interest of various fields. The conference will focus on a sector of sports marketing alongside the Formula One race with educational sessions for our interested high school students. The times listed are approximate to the times of transportation. The event will last several days at Austin.

4-Day Volleyball Tournament! Students will be placed on teams and compete in a round-robin format during the first portion of the tournament, allowing each team multiple opportunities to play. Based on team performance, the tournament will then transition into bracket play, where teams will compete for a chance to advance and be crowned tournament champions. This event is designed to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and friendly competition while giving all participants plenty of opportunities to play and have fun.

Tuesday A & B Lunch: Marshmallow Pick-Up 1st Round: A team of Seniors/Freshman and Juniors/Sophomore will be blindfolded and compete to see which can have the most amount of marshmallows in a bowl using only a scoop and no guidance. Whoever wins out of the round will represent the entire team in the final round (Note that it will be Juniors vs. Sophomores first then Seniors Vs. Freshmen, 1 advancing from each team) 2nd Round: A team of the winner of each will compete similarly to the 1st round however there will be a spin the wheel that will give either an advantage or disadvantage based on probability (Tiny spoon, Non dominant hand, large spoon, large bowl, small bowl, ect). The winner will receive bragging rights and a point to the advantage of color for Friday's rock paper scissors tournament. Thursday A & B Lunch: Family Feud Seniors/Freshmen team of 5 go against Juniors/Sophomores team of 5 and have one representative from each team come to the front to face off The host will ask a question and the first team to “buzz in” gives an answer. The player with the higher-ranked answer (most popular) will get to decide if their team plays or passes The playing team takes turns guessing answers on the survey board. Each correct answer earns the points assigned to it. An incorrect answer earns a strike Three strikes means the other team gets ONE chance to guess the remaining answer. If they get one, they steal all the points from the round.

Homecoming Day is the most event-filled day of the school year with our annual Pep Rally in the morning of the day, followed by our new HOCO Lunch Games and continued with Lip Dub and Tailgate directly afterschool.

After Lip Dub, students with a homecoming game ticket are encouraged to attend tailgate directly afterschool to enjoy fun HOCO festivities, enjoy free food and prepare for the game! Check the event notice for location, time and ticket information.

The Homecoming Game is the highlight of the entire HOCO Season which is a game between the Seniors and Freshmen V.S. Juniors and Sophomores. We will need to have the game at the Taylor Field at 5:00 P.M. STUCO will need access to the field directly afterschool to set-up any required materials.Bus Transportation will be needed for students to be driven to the game. Shuttle buses will take students to the game, but transportation home will not be necessary.

3rd CASE Tournament

Our annual Homecoming Dance is the highlight of the first semester. STUCO spends weeks preparing the most festive night filled with music, dancing, food and amazing decorations. We also announce our Homecoming Court and offer a photobooth curtesy of Safari Yearbook.

This event is a workshop full of educational sessions hosted by the Area 8 district FBLA vice president school. Students will attend to gain opportunities, important takeaways and insights, and learn to network among other students of various fields and schools that host FBLA.

AP Human Geography students will travel to the Hobby Center to see a matinee performance of Buena Vista Social Club.

All State Round 4 Area AuditionDeer Park High School South Campus

The Greater Houston Collegiate Orchestras is a student-led organization comprised of ensembles that are taught and conducted by students from the Moores School of Music, Texas State University, and Rice University. The program includes a student string orchestra, as well as a pre-professional symphony orchestra led collaboratively by MSM and Rice University students. Our winter concert will feature students from top conservatories, such as Oberlin, Eastman, DePaul, and Julliard, all from the Houston Area, and include a guest soloist from Rice, Professor James Palmer, performing Rhapsody in Blue.We strive to create an environment that focuses on collaboration, inclusivity, and education. The organization is funded directly by the student executive team and operates so that participating students can join regardless of their financial status, tearing down any barriers in their way of creating music; exactly what Kerr and Alief strives for.

Students in FBLA will compete against other schools and FBLA members in a district-wide competition. Competition events will focus on a variety of business topics, in addition to educational workshops led by stakeholders and professionals to share their insights. Over 4,000 Student Council Leaders from across the state gather in San Antonio for the Annual Conference where we close out the STUCO year by celebrating our State report Achievements and electing new state officers. Additionally, we also learn more ideas for new officers and incoming officers to take back to use in our school.

Public performance for UIL One Act Play.

This event will be at the Fort Worth Convention Center. Students in FBLA will compete statewide against other members from other schools around Texas in business related topics, as well as gain opportunities and important takeaways via workshops granted by the conference. The Kerr Basketball Draft will take place after school for all registered participants. Only team captains will be present in person at the draft, while all other participants will join virtually via Zoom. During the draft, team captains will select players, discuss team rosters, and complete any approved trades. This event will officially form the teams and prepare participants for the upcoming season. All players should be available to join the Zoom meeting to follow the draft and see where they are selected.

Our UIL band students will perform a joint concert with the Houston Brass. This is an amazing opportunity for our students.

Choir Students attend a screening of an Opera

The Annual Alief ISD Beginning Choir Festival is a full-day event that offers students a valuable UIL-style performance experience, including feedback from judges and the opportunity to hear other intermediate choirs.

6th grade beginner Alief orchestra groups perform concert and sightreading for judges and audience.  There are performances from 7 to 9 different groups.  This is performance is a requirement for schools with 6th grade beginners.

The intermediate school band festival will be held at Kerr this year once again

This is the concert for the Albright PVAA Spring Fine arts showcase. We will rehearse and perform for the public.

Class Wars is a week-long tradition hosted by STUCO where students from each class participate in various games and activities. We end the week outside, afterschool on Friday in physical events between all classes.
