The 5th grade team will be holding an in-person informational parent meeting for our overnight field trip to Cal-Wood. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 21th, from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. We will bediscussing the logistics of this trip, as well as taking parent questions. The Cal-Wood trip will take place in late January 2027. Please join us on October 21th, in the K8 Commons (cafeteria), to learn more about this amazing educational opportunity

This is a training for the HS students that are helping with the high school shadowing event. The participating students will be served lunch and receive a training for a prospective student to potentially shadow them during one of the 3 shadowing events.

For the first grade Core Knowledge Day Celebration, students will be connecting their Modern Mexico Core Knowledge Unit to the Day of the Dead holiday. Students have spent the last few weeks engaging in the culture and history of Mexico and on this day, students will bring their learning to life through a Day of the Dead Celebration. Students can dress in CoCo or Encanto costumes, the colors of the Mexico Flag (red, green, white), or in bright colorful costumes. Students will spend the morning engaging with hands-on traditions from this Holiday and will spend the afternoon watching CoCo while enjoying festive foods that bring the culture we have learned about into the classroom. We are excited to see our learning come to life.

Guest Scientist Visiting the Two Quant Sci ClassesThese are free scientist in the school programs offered by CSU Extension Adams CountyThey will be running a program called Invisible Ink. I will assist with any set up they do before 8:15. To celebrate Core Knowledge Day, kindergarteners will dress up as farmers or farm animals in connection with our Farms unit. This fun and festive event serves as a culminating activity, giving students a chance to showcase and celebrate everything they've learned about life on the farm.

On Friday October 30, our 3rd grade students will journey back in time for Pompeii Day, where they’ll experience life in ancient Pompeii. They will participate in fun activities and will even try to survive a volcanic eruption!

The B.O.S.S. Ball will be a night to remember with your someone special for dancing, games, prizes and fun. This is a FIRST LEGO League Broomfield Qualifier Event for the Denver area for teams in the area to compete at (MS aged students). It is great community outreach opportunity to represent/show off who PRA is. This event is an ALL day event. FIRST Volunteers/teams start showing up at 6:30 am and should all be cleared out by 5:30 pm. We will need K-8 commons (and maybe HS commons too) and one of the gyms for the competition area. (commons for team pits and we will need the cafeteria tables out and then fold up 4x6 foot tables set up for competition tables).

As we draw this semester to a close, we will be celebrating our Three World Religions unit in Core Knowledge with a Celebration connected to the holidays we learned about. Students will spend time creating crafts in connection to Christmas, Hanukkah, and Ramadan. We will spend the afternoon enjoying food directly connected to each world religion (potato chip latkes, christmas cookie, dried apple chips). We are excited to spend the day showcasing our learning through activities and crafts.

This is a FIRST Tech Challenge HS regional event for other HS aged students to come and compete at. The Spring 2027 CMAS testing window is April 5th-13th.  PRA will be administering CMAS for grades 3-5. This year we will be administering CMAS testing on devices (which will be provided to elementary students).Standardized testing is an important part of our culture at Prospect Ridge Academy, as the data we receive provides us with the ability to analyze and compare our areas of growth and strength within our school and with schools in the surrounding region. Testing helps us remain accountable to our community, and it also prepares our kids for high stakes testing in their college prep futures. We’re excited to begin the testing season and ask for your support in encouraging your kids to do their best and enjoy the process. If you do not want your child(ren) to participate in CMAS testing please email Eleanor Minick, Data & Assessment Coordinator at eminick@prosectridgeacademy.org for further instructions on opting out.

Rocky Mountain National Park's 415 square miles hosts a diversity of wildlife including 66 types of mammals and over 280 types of birds. Join an education ranger as they introduce five of these animals, noting the differences between their parents and offspring and exploring the characteristics that help them survive in this diverse landscape.

🎉 8th Grade End-of-Year Field Trip – Boondocks 🎉We are thrilled to celebrate the end of an amazing school year with our 8th graders at Boondocks! This special field trip is a way to recognize their hard work, growth, and accomplishments as they get ready to take the next step in their academic journey.

6th grade will have 10 different fun stations for field day. Most of the stations are at the High grass field. One station on the playground and near Buffalo park for Kona Ice.If there is inclement weather, 6th grade teachers will rotate students in fun stations within their classrooms. Our Class of 2032 students have almost made it through the 7th Grade!We'd like to celebrate our students and the end of the school year with a Pizza Party and Picnic on Friday, May 14th from 12:45 - 3:15 PM, and we could use some volunteer help in making this happen!We'll be using the park area just west of Buffalo Park on Indian Peaks Pkwy. Just across the street from where they had recess all last school year. There's lots of space for them to eat, hang out, and have some fun!See you there!

Elementary Field Day is on Tuesday, May 18th. It is a day when the PE teachers organize fun activities for students.Set up time that occurs before school will be done by the PE teachers.
